About Driune Santana

Driune Santana has been knocking down doors in the media for the past six years. Santana has established a space in print, digital and broadcast media producing local and nationally syndicated radio show on WMPR 90.1. Currently residing in Jackson, Mississippi, Santana attended Hinds Community College and obtained her Associates Degree in Journalism. In 2015, Santana began contributing to an entertainment publication called Southern Laced, where she wrote compelling stories, interviewed iconic legends, hosted “GET LACED…LET’S TALK! podcast, covered local events and eventually became the social media manager. Once she completed her degree in 2017, Santana started interning at a local radio station, WMPR 90.1 FM. She spent her time shadowing the former program director as she learned how to work the board operator, play commercials at a timely manner, conduct live interviews, and host contest giveaways. Six months later, Santana was granted the opportunity to become a part-time radio personality as the new host of “The Lunchtime Oldies Show” Monday-Friday in the afternoon.

In 2018, Santana made her departure from WMPR 90.1 to continue her love for journalism. She went on to contribute to Hip Hop Weekly, Baller Alert, JaGurl Tv, Plastiq Magazine and many others. After spending two years with Southern Laced, she created her own website called DriuneSantana.com. While working for five publications at a time, Santana had to find a source of income which led her to working at a local call center in Mississippi. A couple months later, she began working as a beauty consultant at Target.

In 2020, Santana began focusing more on her career as a journalist. She made a name for herself as the founding editor of Lifestyle & Entertainment website TheCultureCommentator.com, which has showcased the lifestyle contributions to entertainment, fashion, beauty, and culture. She has conducted more than 100 in-the-field interviews with entertainers, actors, business moguls, and public figures. For example, Jazmine Sullivan, Sandra Smith, Dru Hill, Algee Smith, Keith Powers, Salt-n-Pepa, Angie Stones, Polo G, Flo Milli, Skip Marley, Keri Hilson, Christopher B. Duncan, T.I., The 85 South and more. She has also covered The Oscars, BET Soul Train Awards, Black Music Honors, BET Hip Hop Awards and countless listen parties and tv/film press conferences.

Santana has been featured on various of websites and a guest on panels, such as, Media Mogul in The Making, Melanin People, Black Girls in Media, Media Women Connect, KärnlMoon, Wrestling Wrealm, Heavy Sounds Crew, For(bes) The Culture, 2021 Business To Watch and more.

When Santana is not building her media platform, she can be seen contributing to Hip Hop Weekly, and conducting interviews on Hollywood Melanin. She is also the newest edition to “The Cool Kidz” as a co-host on Mississippi’s own Third Coast Radio as well as a host and editor for Women’s Wrestling Talk.
